Stigmergy Mechanism as a Form of Architectural Space Programming

This paper explores the understanding of architectural spaces driven by knowledge that animals communicate modifying environment, in which they live. The way environment forms an interaction, is referred to as stigmergy, a mediated form animal interaction. elaborates on process colonies with their living and leave different kinds spatial traces. argues stigmergy can be potentially used basis programming. writing multiple scenarios several insect colonies, highlighting mechanism three main components namely Agent, Medium, Traces. focuses how agent interacts within particular medium creates traces spaces. Findings such interaction are utilized inform programming based between humans, animals, integrated ecological systems. development using method appropriates social mechanisms insects, composing architecture, producing systems for soil fertilization revitalization environment.
